Two people have been shot dead at their home in Sakumono over an alleged unpaid debt of GH¢500,000.
George Atuguba, 57, and his niece Irene Atuguba, 47, were found in pools of blood at their residence at the NTHC Estate on Friday, 30 October 2026. Officers from the Sakumono District Command rushed to the scene after receiving information about the shooting. Both victims were pronounced dead at the hospital and their bodies have been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary.
Police have declared Samuel Christopher Osei Anto wanted as the principal suspect. A woman, Beatrice Mumuni, who allegedly led him to the victims’ house, is currently in custody.
Preliminary investigations indicate the killings stemmed from a financial dispute. George Atuguba is said to have borrowed GH¢500,000 from the suspect and failed to repay the amount.
The Baatsona Divisional Police Command is handling the investigation and has appealed to the public for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
