Egyptian authorities have arrested dancer and content creator Shuruq in Giza over allegations of publishing social media videos showing her dancing in outfits described as indecent.
According to reports, investigations by the Tourism and Antiquities Police revealed that Shuruq had shared the videos on her social media accounts, allegedly to attract more views and increase engagement.
She was reportedly apprehended in the Sheikh Zayed area of Giza following the completion of the necessary legal procedures.
During questioning, Shuruq allegedly admitted to posting the videos to boost viewership on her social media platforms.
Authorities have since initiated legal proceedings against her in connection with the alleged offence.
