A rare piece of Formula 1 history has found a new home in West Africa.
The 2013 Marussia MR02, which recently arrived in Ghana, has been confirmed as part of the collection of multi-millionaire businessman Dr. Osei Kwame Despite. The historic single-seater is currently being carefully unloaded into the Despite Automobile Museum in Accra.

Ownership of the car had remained undisclosed until now — marking another significant addition to the region’s growing collection of iconic motorsport vehicles.

The Marussia MR02 competed in the 2013 Formula 1 World Championship. After arriving at Tema Port, the car is now being moved into the Despite Automobile Museum in East Legon, one of West Africa’s most notable private automotive collections.

The museum already houses an impressive range of luxury and classic vehicles. The arrival of a genuine Formula 1 car further elevates its profile and reflects the increasing interest in high-end motorsport heritage across the continent.
