The Manhyia Palace has opened a Book of Condolence in honour of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 98.
Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III, mother of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, reigned from 2017 until her death. She succeeded her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem III, and was widely respected for her fairness, honesty, and wisdom.
Born in 1927, Nana Yiadom III was the first of five children and was christened “Ruth” in 1959 after being baptised into the Saviour Church of Ghana. Though she didn’t receive formal education, she was palace-educated and worked as a caterer, farmer, and petty trader.
She was officially enstooled as the 14th Queen Mother of Asanteman on February 6, 2017.
The Asanteman Council will observe the one-week rites on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace, where mourners and dignitaries are expected to pay tribute.
