Nigerian Fashion Designer Fatally Shot in Brooklyn Nightclub After Confronting Drunk Patron Who Harassed His Girlfriend

Sheriff Shittu, a Nigerian aspiring fashion designer based in the US, was fatally shot early Saturday at Quilox Restaurant and Lounge in Brooklyn following an altercation with a drunken patron who allegedly groped his girlfriend. The incident occurred around 4:25 a.m. after Sheriff briefly left the club and returned to retrieve his phone, only to be shot when the intoxicated man was being escorted out.

His younger brother, Fawaz Shittu, described the chaotic aftermath and criticized the club’s security for failing to prevent the tragedy. Sheriff was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital but later died. The gunman remains at large as authorities continue their investigation.

This incident has sparked concerns about nightclub safety and the enforcement of security measures in crowded venues.
