Tottenham Hotspur forward Mohammed Kudus has withdrawn from the Ghana national team squad ahead of the Black Stars’ upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia, according to 3Sports.
Kudus was included in Carlos Queiroz’s 24-man squad after returning to international duty following a lengthy injury layoff that ruled him out of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
His withdrawal comes as a setback for Queiroz, who had identified Kudus as one of the key players returning to the Black Stars ahead of the 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.
Ghana will begin their qualifying campaign away against Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké on September 24 before hosting The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29. The Black Stars are also scheduled to face Morocco in an international friendly on October 4.
The Ghana Football Association is yet to announce a replacement for Kudus.
