A Ghanaian man has died after being struck by a train in the Netherlands, according to a Facebook post by his sister.
The man, identified only as Kwaku, is said to have arrived in the country the day before the incident. Posts shared on Monday included images of a woman described as his sister expressing grief over the death.
She wrote: “Just a night in holland?? You travelled and just the next day, you got hit by a train!!! Make it make sense to me Kwaku.. You’ve broken my heart. I’m in so much pain.. Kwaku come and see dad crying for the first time… M’akyiriba no kɔ ooo. My brother is gone!!!”
No independent confirmation of the man’s full identity, age, or the precise circumstances of the accident has been obtained from Dutch authorities or the Ghanaian embassy at the time of publication.
