President Mahama Swears In Justice Baffoe-Bonnie as New Chief Justice

President John Dramani Mahama officially swore in Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie as Ghana’s new Chief Justice.  He took the Oath of Allegiance, Judicial Oath, and Oath of Secrecy at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House, after being permanently appointed to the post.

Mahama called for a strong and independent judiciary, stressing that justice must remain fair, impartial and accessible to all Ghanaians.  His remarks aligned with his broader “Reset Agenda” to restore public confidence in state institutions.

As Chief Justice, Baffoe-Bonnie is expected to lead the Supreme Court through a critical period, especially following the suspension and removal of his predecessor.

This appointment underscores Mahama’s commitment to revitalizing Ghana’s legal system and strengthening the rule of law.
