Irish Police Arrest Man with drugs Worth Over €2.2 Million in County Laois and Dublin

A major drug bust has led to the arrest of a man following the seizure of drugs with an estimated street value of €2.2 million (£1.9 million) by Gardaí, the Irish police force.

The operation began on Friday when Gardaí intercepted a vehicle on the M7 motorway in County Laois. During this stop, officers discovered and confiscated approximately €100,000 worth of suspected cocaine.

Acting on intelligence gathered from this initial interception, Gardaí conducted a follow-up search at a residence in west Dublin. This search yielded a further haul of illegal substances, including:

Cannabis with an estimated value of €160,000 Ketamine worth approximately €1.2 million Cocaine valued at around €530,000 Diamorphine (heroin) with an estimated street value of €210,000

The combined total value of the drugs seized exceeds €2.2 million, marking a significant success for law enforcement in their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Ireland.

The arrested individual is currently in Garda custody as investigations continue. Authorities have not yet released further details on the suspect or the potential networks involved.

This seizure sends a strong message about the commitment of Irish law enforcement to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs and reduce their impact on communities.
