Former Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo has revealed details of a private conversation he had with President John Dramani Mahama. According to Domelevo, Mahama reportedly said, “If I fail, there would be a coup in Ghana, and all former presidents would face execution.” He added that Jerry Rawlings and Evans Atta Mills are fortunate to be dead, but the living former presidents would not go scot-free.

Domelevo also disclosed that Mahama emphasized Ghanaians’ demand for results over mere democracy, referencing the public’s reaction to Burkina Faso President Ibrahim Traoré’s attendance at his inauguration earlier this year. Despite the grave warnings, Domelevo expressed confidence that President Mahama would rise to the expectations of Ghanaians.
