Ghana Donates 40 Metric Tonnes of Cocoa Products to Palestine in Humanitarian Gesture

In a remarkable act of solidarity, the government of Ghana has donated 40 metric tonnes of premium Ghana-made chocolate and cocoa products to victims of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The humanitarian aid was presented by President John Mahama to the Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana, Abdul Fattah Ahmed Khalil al-Sattari, at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House in Accra.

Describing the donation as a “gesture of compassion,” President Mahama emphasized the importance of standing with those in crisis. “We’re gathered here today, not only to reaffirm our fraternal ties with Palestine, but to respond in a small yet heartfelt way to the humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza,” he said.

He added that the aid was both symbolic and practical—aimed at offering comfort and nourishment to families facing severe hardship. The president expressed deep sorrow over the suffering of civilians, especially women and children, caught in the conflict.

“The images and stories emerging from the conflict zones are heartbreaking,” he noted. “They remind us that behind every statistic are human lives—people who long for peace, dignity, and hope.”

The move has been widely praised as a bold display of African solidarity and moral leadership on the international stage.
