Former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney Dies at 84

Former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney has died at the age of 84 from complications of pneumonia and heart disease. Cheney served under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009 and was a key figure in shaping U.S. foreign policy after the September 11 attacks, notably advocating for the War on Terror and the Iraq invasion.

Before his vice presidency, Cheney was Secretary of Defense under George H. W. Bush, White House Chief of Staff under Gerald Ford, and a longtime member of Congress. Outside politics, he was chairman of defense firm Halliburton and an avid hunter.
