Firefighting Helicopter Crashes Into Pond in Western France While Refilling Water — No Injuries Reported

Western France – August 24, 2025: A firefighting helicopter crashed into a pond on Sunday evening while attempting to refill its water tank during efforts to battle a nearby wildfire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to local officials.

Eyewitness David, a passerby, described the terrifying moment: “It all happened in less than ten seconds. He flew way too low, coming down fast. I thought it was going to explode into pieces. Once it flipped, it was spinning all over the place. It’s the first time in my life I’ve seen a helicopter hit the water.”

Authorities have confirmed that both crew members on board were rescued safely. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
