Fire Destroys Accra Tourist Information Centre and Reggie Rockstone’s residence

A fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, August 4, 2025, destroying the Accra Tourist Information Centre and the office of music legend Reggie Rockstone. The exact cause and time of the blaze remain unknown, but Director of Diaspora Affairs, Kofi Okyere-Darko, confirmed the incident around 2 a.m.

Videos of the fire circulating on social media have sparked public concern over Ghana’s emergency preparedness. In an interview, Rockstone expressed gratitude that no lives were lost and thanked the fire service for their response. He also condemned the act of prank-calling emergency services, calling it “evil and diabolical.”
