The FBI has announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Nigerian national Olumide Adebiyi Adediran, who has been on the run for nearly 24 years. Adediran fled the U.S. in 2001 before standing trial for charges including bank fraud, identity theft, and credit card fraud.
This renewed manhunt is part of a broader crackdown by U.S. authorities on Nigerian-linked cybercrime networks. Recently, the FBI also targeted UK-based Nigerian fraudster Ajibola Oduntan over alleged multimillion-naira ticket scams and secured the extradition of four other Nigerians in June 2023 on wire fraud and identity theft charges.
