In a recent operation, the Ghana Police Service has apprehended Fredrick Papa Kow-Assifuah for impersonating a medical doctor and running a fraudulent scheme. The arrest, made by the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) Headquarters on June 6, 2025, in Kasoa Crispo City, Central Region, followed an intelligence-led investigation into Assifuah’s activities.
Assifuah stands accused of defrauding unsuspecting individuals by promising them international travel opportunities under false pretenses. Posing as a medical professional, he allegedly swindled victims out of their money with promises of facilitating their travel to Europe.
Further investigation revealed an additional layer to Assifuah’s deception. He confessed to using his fake identity to engage women online, initiating intimate relationships, and then manipulating them into providing funds for non-existent travel arrangements. The suspect is currently in custody and assisting with the ongoing investigation, after which he will be brought before the court to face charges.
