An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a 47-year-old teacher and ex-convict, Sokah Phidels Load, to 48 years in prison for defiling a seven-year-old girl at a basic school in Accra.
The court, presided over by G. A. Inkumsah-Ishun, found Sokah guilty after a full trial.
Prosecutors revealed that the convict lured the victim into his office on February 6, 2025, and sexually assaulted her in a washroom on the school premises.
Sokah, who had previously been sentenced to 25 years for defilement in 2011 but was released early in 2020 after serving 15 years, secured employment at the school without disclosing his criminal history.
The victim confided in another pupil, prompting school authorities to report the act to the police.
