Driver of Anthony Joshua’s Car Charged with Reckless Driving After Fatal Ogun State Crash, Granted 5 Million Naira ($3,480) Bail Following Deaths of Two Passengers

The driver of a car carrying British boxer Anthony Joshua has been charged with reckless and dangerous driving following a fatal crash in Ogun State, Nigeria.

The incident occurred on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, when the Lexus SUV transporting Joshua and two of his friends, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, collided with a stationary truck. Tragically, the two passengers lost their lives, while Joshua sustained minor injuries.

The driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, was granted bail of five million naira ($3,480) with two sureties but was remanded until he meets the bail conditions. Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

This case has drawn widespread attention in Nigeria and internationally, highlighting road safety concerns on major highways.
