Burkina Faso Armed Forces K!ll Over 100 Terrorists in Foutouri, Take Down Top Commanders and Seize Weapons in Major Operation

On August 20, 2025, Burkina Faso’s armed forces achieved a significant victory in the fight against terrorism, launching a successful operation in the Foutouri area of the eastern region. The operation led to the neutralization of over 100 terrorists, delivering a strong message about the country’s commitment to restoring peace and security.

Among those killed were two key terrorist leaders, Abou Souleymane and Abdoul Bâdre, both believed to be masterminds behind multiple attacks in the region. Their elimination marks a major blow to terrorist operations in that part of the country.

In addition to neutralizing enemy fighters, the Combat Forces seized a large cache of weapons and several motorcycles, which were being used for transport and attacks. These materials are now in the custody of security forces.

This overwhelming success is being celebrated as a turning point in the fight against terrorism and a demonstration of the strength and determination of Burkina Faso’s patriotic forces. Officials and citizens alike have praised the operation as a bold step toward restoring stability across the nation.

As terrorist threats continue to challenge the region, this victory reaffirms the Burkinabè military’s resolve to defend the nation and protect its people from extremist violence.
