Egyptian security forces have arrested seven suspected criminals accused of seizing nearly 600 acres of state-owned and privately owned agricultural land through intimidation and violence.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the suspects allegedly engaged in thuggery, unlawfully took control of the lands and extorted money from landowners under threats of gunfire. The group reportedly used a location in Giza Governorate as a base for its criminal operations.
Following the completion of legal procedures, security personnel raided the location and arrested the seven suspects. Officers also recovered seven automatic rifles and a shotgun during the operation.
The suspects reportedly admitted to their involvement in the alleged crimes during questioning. Legal proceedings have since been initiated, while investigators continue to examine the case.
