Nigerian police have taken custody of a fugitive wanted over the abduction and killing of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her daughter, after Ghanaian authorities arrested him and handed him over through Interpol.
Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun was transferred to officers of Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Abuja after being detained by the Ghana Police Service in Accra. Police said he had fled Nigeria following the disappearance of SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun and her daughter, Sewa Lasisi, from their home in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on 2 November 2025. vanguardngr.com
The two were later found dead in Osun State. Investigators said the bodies had been dumped in separate locations and that body parts were missing, in what police have treated as a suspected ritual killing.
Fajemirokun, described by police as the officer’s boyfriend, was alleged to have lured the mother and child from Ogun to Osun. Two other men, identified as herbalists Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James, were later arrested in Osun and Ekiti states and paraded by police. Ghanaian police said they arrested Fajemirokun after intelligence placed him at a friend’s house near Akwatia, following the circulation of a video linking him to the case. Force spokesman CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said the handover followed a coordinated multi-agency operation.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun commiserated with the victims’ family and said the investigation would be thorough before the suspect was arraigned. He commended the Ghana Police Service for its cooperation.
The Nigeria Police Force said the case showed its determination to pursue suspects across borders and to prevent criminals from using national boundaries to escape justice.
Police said other people linked to the killings were still being sought.
