Ghanaian fashion icon and actress Nana Akua Addo has reportedly been hospitalised after videos circulated online appearing to show her with facial injuries.
In footage shared on social media on Tuesday, Ms Addo is seen on what appears to be a hospital bed, with a swollen lip and a cut beneath one eye. Blood is also visible on her clothing in the clips.
Videos said to be linked to the incident show a man, described as her husband, accusing her of infidelity.
Ms Addo, who was born in Germany, is known in Ghana for her work as a model and actress, and for the outfits she has worn at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. She married her partner in a private civil ceremony in March 2022. In a 2021 interview she said infidelity had been a problem in the relationship, but that the couple had stayed together, in part for their daughters.
Further details of her condition, and of the events that led to the videos, have not been established.
