Aliko Dangote is establishing a family office in Dubai to oversee his wealth, investments and wider business interests, with broader operations expected to begin in 2027. The office will be overseen by his daughter, Halima Dangote, and will focus on governance, capital management, investments, philanthropy and succession planning. The move reflects a shift from building one of Africa’s largest business empires to ensuring it can remain intact beyond its founder. Dangote’s long-term ambition is to preserve the family’s business legacy for eight to 10 generations. As part of the plan, Dangote is also expected to dedicate about one-third of his estimated $35 billion fortune to philanthropy. For an empire built on decades of expansion, the next challenge is not simply creating wealth. It is building the structures, governance and succession strategy needed to keep that wealth working for generations.
