Metro Mass Bus Traveling to Tamale Attacked by armed robbers — One Passenger K!lled, Three Sustain Gunsh0t Injuries

A Metro Mass Transit bus travelling from Bunkpurugu to Tamale came under attack in the early hours of Friday, October 10, 2025, resulting in the death of one passenger and gunshot injuries to three others.

According to eyewitnesses, the armed robbers did not block the road but used torchlights to signal the bus to stop. The driver, suspecting danger, refused — prompting the assailants to open fire at the rear of the vehicle.

The victims were rushed to the Faith Community Hospital in Nakpanduri for medical attention. The location of the attack was described as a remote, non-community area.

Some survivors have expressed growing concern about the safety of early-morning departures, warning that such schedules increase the risk of robbery and ambush on this route.
