460 Security Personnel Deployed for Asantehemaa’s One-Week Rites

A total of 460 security personnel have been deployed to Manhyia Palace in Kumasi today, August 21, 2025, to ensure peace and order during the one-week observation of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The deployment includes officers from the Ghana Police Service, military, and other security agencies to manage crowd control, traffic, and general security throughout the ceremonial grounds. Thousands of mourners, dignitaries, and traditional leaders from across the country are expected to attend.

The one-week rites mark a significant step in the traditional funeral processes of the Ashanti Kingdom, honoring the life and legacy of the Queen Mother.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with security officials to ensure a smooth and respectful event.
