Traffic was brought to a standstill early today in Namumira, Mukono, after a Trinity Express bus collided with a Uganda Railway train at a level crossing, causing temporary disruptions in the area.

The incident adds to a growing number of railway-related accidents in Uganda. In a similar tragedy in 2022, a train in Nakawa crashed into a Mercedes-Benz during a night drive, killing a couple on board.

Authorities are urging stronger safety measures at railway crossings to prevent further incidents.
