The Republic of Niger has officially announced the launch of its new national airline, Niger Air, marking a major step in boosting domestic and regional air connectivity.
Unveiled by the Minister of Transport, Colonel Salissou Mahaman Salissou, the airline aims to improve access across rural areas and reduce reliance on foreign carriers. Alongside Niger Air, plans are underway for a regional airline in partnership with Mali and Burkina Faso, under the Alliance of Sahel States (ASS).
To fast-track operations, Niger is reforming aviation regulations, streamlining permits, and collaborating with Morocco for technical support and training.
The launch is a strategic move to strengthen sovereignty, economic growth, and regional integration through improved air travel.
