Ghana has opened discussions with Luxembourg on a potential visa-waiver arrangement that could ease travel for Ghanaians to Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa held talks with his Luxembourg counterpart, Xavier Bettel, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Ghana already has visa-waiver agreements in force with the Maldives, Zambia and Antigua and Barbuda, covering ordinary, service and diplomatic passport holders. No deal has yet been reached with Luxembourg or the wider Benelux group.
