Burkina Faso has begun developing three new planned neighbourhoods in Bobo-Dioulasso, Ouagadougou and Ouahigouya as part of a government housing programme.
In Bobo-Dioulasso, the City of Bindougousso covers 304 hectares and includes 2,076 plots. Its first phase features 66 duplex villas and 17 mixed-use buildings.
The project, led by state housing agency SONATUR, is designed to provide modern housing and better-planned urban infrastructure.
The other developments are located in Silmiougou in Ouagadougou and Poédogo in Ouahigouya.

SONATUR opened the sites for the sale of residential and commercial plots in late 2025, with the projects designed to provide planned urban areas with basic infrastructure and improved living conditions.
