Ghana Records 1,730 Road Accident Deaths in First Half of 2025

Ghana has recorded a staggering 1,730 deaths from road accidents between January and July 2025, according to Chief Superintendent Alexander Kweku Obeng, Director of Education, Training and Research at the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD).

This alarming figure highlights the urgent need for stricter road safety measures, increased public education, and responsible driving. The MTTD continues to advocate for discipline on the roads to curb the growing toll of preventable deaths.

Every life lost is a call to action — Ghana must prioritize road safety now.
