In a forceful address before top military leaders, President Donald Trump issued a bold warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin, revealing that U.S. nuclear submarines are “lurking” off Russian waters. He also pledged a major overhaul of America’s nuclear arsenal.
Trump declared that the U.S. remains “25 years ahead of Russia and China on submarines,” calling them “the most lethal weapons ever made—undetectable and unmatched.” He added: “If it ever comes to use, we have more than anybody else. We have better, we have newer. But this is something we never want to think about using.”
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth joined him in stressing that America is “ready for war,” while Trump affirmed that the nation’s military strength will be reinforced by upgraded nuclear capabilities.
The message was clear: under his watch, the United States intends to maintain deterrence posture through superior undersea and nuclear power.
