Earlier today, a tragic stampede occurred at El-Wak Stadium in Accra during a Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise, leaving several young recruits injured and some dead. Reports indicate that 6 people lost their lives, while others were rushed to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment.
In response, President Mahama, accompanied by the Acting Defence Minister and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), visited the hospitalized recruits to offer support and assess their condition.
The nation mourns the loss of these young Ghanaians, who were pursuing their dreams of serving the country, and extends condolences to the families affected while wishing speedy recovery to those injured.
