British actor Micheal Ward, best known for his role in the hit series Top Boy, has been charged with multiple serious sexual offences and is set to appear in court next month.
The 27-year-old has been formally charged with two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault. According to the Metropolitan Police, the charges relate to a single woman and the alleged incidents occurred in January 2023.
Detective Superintendent Scott Ware, who is leading the investigation, stated, “Our specialist officers continue to support the woman who has come forward. We know investigations of this nature can have a significant impact on those who make reports.”
Ward, who resides in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 28 August 2025.
In response to the charges, Ward released a statement denying all allegations. “I recognise that proceedings are now ongoing, and I have full faith that they will lead to my name being cleared,” he said.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) emphasized the need for due process. Catherine Baccas, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London South, said, “We remind all concerned that proceedings against the suspect are active, and he has a right to a fair trial.”
As this is a live legal matter, no further comments will be made by authorities at this time. Updates will follow as the case develops.
