In a promising move for digital creators, GCB Bank has proposed a new payout framework that could finally allow TikTok influencers in Ghana to receive direct earnings from their content. The system would enable payouts via mobile money (MoMo) and traditional bank transfers, streamlining the monetization process for local creators.
Currently, many Ghanaian TikTokers struggle to access earnings due to regional limitations on TikTok’s monetization tools. This new initiative would remove that barrier by establishing a local payment framework — channeling ad revenue and brand partnership payments directly into creators’ accounts.
If successful, the plan could not only empower thousands of content creators financially but also bolster the local digital economy. Ghana may soon join the ranks of countries where creators can turn social media influence into sustainable income.
