Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to 4 years and 2 months (50 months) in federal prison, along with a $500,000 fine, following his conviction for transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. The 55-year-old Bad Boy Records founder had been in custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest in September last year.
Combs was found guilty in July, with testimony from his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another woman identified only as “Jane,” along with male sex workers. During the sentencing, Judge Arun Subramanian noted that federal guidelines suggested 6–7 years but ultimately settled on a mid-range sentence.
In an emotional plea ahead of sentencing, Diddy reportedly told the court, “I have no one to blame but myself,” as he begged for leniency.
