KSM endorses Ntim Fordjour as Apostle of nation building and backtracks from earlier sharp criticism

Accra, August 4, 2025 — The Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has responded to veteran satirist Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) over comments attributed to him regarding the upcoming Akwatia by-election.

Appearing on The KSM Show aired on August 2, the MP addressed recent criticism following claims that he had made inflammatory remarks. Rev. Ntim Fordjour clarified that his statements were taken out of context and misrepresented, suggesting he was calling for violence—something he vehemently denied.

“You would know that I was preaching against bloodshed,” the MP said, addressing KSM directly. “My comments were meant to urge decisive action to avoid violence, not incite it.”

The MP referenced a troubling pattern of electoral violence in Ghana, citing Ayawaso West Wuogon, Talensi, Techiman, and others as examples of past incidents that must not be repeated.

“If we leave things the way they’ve been happening… how long must that continue? We should draw lessons from them and put in action today to prevent the next Ablekuma North incident,” he stated.

Rev. Ntim Fordjour emphasized that his intention was to call attention to the need for stronger preventive measures against political violence and vigilantism, not to encourage unrest. He added that his remarks were a plea for peace and accountability, highlighting that Ablekuma North, despite having only 19 polling stations, experienced violence that should never have occurred.

The MP’s response serves as a broader call for political maturity and proactive leadership ahead of the Akwatia by-election.
