The initial phase, Lot 1, features over 5,616 bedsitters, offering immediate housing solutions for many residents.

The Mukuru Housing Estate project is an ambitious undertaking aimed at transforming informal settlements into well-planned, sustainable communities. In addition to the completed bedsitters, Lot 02 of the estate is currently under construction and will include 3,024 one-bedroom units. Furthermore, Lot 03 is set to provide 4,608 two-bedroom units, catering to families and larger households.

This project underscores President Ruto’s vision of ensuring that every Kenyan has access to decent and affordable housing. The President’s commitment to this initiative reflects a broader strategy to address housing challenges and improve the quality of life for citizens across the country.
