President Mahama to Visit Japan and Singapore to Strengthen Bilateral Relations and Drive Investment

President of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, will embark on an official visit to Japan and Singapore beginning Sunday, August 17, 2025. The visit aims to deepen bilateral relations, expand trade and investment ties, and advance cooperation on key development priorities.

In Japan, President Mahama will participate in the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IX), where he will speak at a plenary session focused on promoting trade and investment. He will also address the Ghana Presidential Investment Forum, highlighting the “Resetting Ghana” agenda, and hold high-level meetings with Japanese partners including the Prime Minister, the President of JICA, and executives from JETRO.

He will then continue to Singapore for a three-day state visit, which includes meetings with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, participation in the Africa-Singapore Business Forum, and an investment-focused forum to showcase Ghana’s reform agenda and foster stronger private-sector collaboration.

The visits are expected to attract investment, enhance trade, and strengthen partnerships in areas such as infrastructure, technology, finance, and human capital development.
