Outspoken media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has boldly declared the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as the most powerful king on the African continent. According to her, the prestige and influence of the Ashanti Kingdom are unmatched, with its grand cultural celebrations uniting people from all walks of life.
Speaking in the wake of the Do Te Yie funeral for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Nana Aba praised the event’s organisation and the rich display of Ashanti tradition.
“You don’t have to be Ashanti to admire what’s happening,” she said. “I’m a Fante, but the culture, history, and authority of the Ashanti Kingdom compare to none.”
She dismissed critics who question the Asantehene’s influence, asserting that his leadership and symbolic power remain unrivaled not just in Ghana, but across Africa.
The funeral, which drew global attention, showcased the sacred porcupine crown and other royal symbols, reinforcing the enduring legacy and cultural might of the Ashanti Kingdom.
