The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has been invited by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over allegations of bribery.

This follows Kotey’s revelation during a media interview that he was approached by an individual who allegedly offered him GH¢4 million to stop the rollout of the new Digitalized Vehicle Registration Plate (DP) policy.

He explained that he rejected the offer and asked the individuals to leave, adding that he decided not to report the matter to the police to avoid further tarnishing the DVLA’s image.

The OSP has invited Kotey to assist with investigations aimed at verifying his claims and identifying those involved in the alleged bribery attempt.
