OSP Arrests Former GRA Boss and SML Executives Amidst Corruption Probe

In a significant move in its ongoing fight against corruption, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced the arrest and detainment of three prominent figures: Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, the former Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA); Isaac Crentsil, the former Customs Commissioner who transitioned to become the General Manager of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML); and Christian Tetteh Sottie, a former GRA Technical Advisor now serving as the CEO of SML.

These arrests are a direct result of investigations into allegations of corruption tied to contracts between the GRA and SML, which were established to provide revenue assurance services. The OSP is specifically looking into suspected corruption and related offenses connected to these contracts, aiming to uncover any potential wrongdoing in the agreements and their execution.

The three officials found themselves in detainment after they were unable to meet the bail requirements set by the OSP. This development underscores the seriousness with which the Special Prosecutor’s office is treating the allegations and signals a firm commitment to pursuing justice and accountability in matters of public finance and governance.
