Nearly 70 Shipping Containers Fall Overboard at Port of Long Beach, USA

Nearly 70 shipping containers toppled off a cargo ship and into the water during an apparent accident at the Port of Long Beach on Tuesday morning, the U.S. Coast Guard has confirmed.

The incident occurred just before 9 a.m., according to port spokesperson Art Marroquin. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The vessel involved, named Mississippi, had arrived from southern China within the 24 hours leading up to the mishap. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
