Ghanaian entrepreneur and presidential candidate of the New Force movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, has spoken out following reports that Kevin Okyere, CEO of Springfield Group, has been detained in Dubai.
In a heartfelt message, Bediako described Okyere as “one of the most intelligent and visionary young Ghanaians of our time” — a man who secured an oil block before turning 40 and had the potential to bring billions into Ghana’s economy.
He criticized what he called Ghana’s culture of undermining its own innovators, referencing past cases where local businesses and visionaries were stifled instead of supported. “A nation that attacks its visionaries has no future,” he wrote, urging both government and citizens to protect Ghanaian innovators rather than destroy them.
Bediako’s rallying cry, “Bring Back Kevin,” has since resonated with many Ghanaians online, sparking fresh conversations about how the nation treats its brightest minds and entrepreneurs.
