MTN Ghana to Temporarily Suspend MoMo Services for System Upgrade on August 17

MTN Ghana has announced a planned six-hour suspension of its Mobile Money (MoMo) services on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. due to a scheduled system upgrade.

During this period, all MoMo-related transactions — including sending and receiving money, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and bill payments — will be unavailable.

Charles Asamoah Assah, Chief Technology and Service Delivery Officer at Mobile Money Limited, explained that the upgrade aims to enhance the quality and reliability of the service.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding,” Assah said, urging customers to complete urgent transactions ahead of time.

MTN Ghana is advising all users to plan accordingly to avoid disruption during the temporary service downtime.
