Massive Fire Erupts After Two Planes Collide at Kalispell Airport

A fiery crash at Kalispell City Airport in Montana on August 11, 2025, has intensified growing concerns about aviation safety globally. A Socata TBM 700 aircraft, carrying four passengers, lost control during landing and struck several parked planes, triggering explosions and a massive fire that spread across the runway.

All four passengers managed to exit the aircraft safely. The plane, owned by Meter Sky LLC of Pullman, Washington, had departed from Pullman earlier that day. Authorities have temporarily closed the airport and launched an investigation.

The crash, described by witnesses as “explosive and deafening,” came just days after a deadly military helicopter crash in Ghana that claimed the lives of eight high-ranking government and military officials.

With incidents like these happening within days of each other, aviation safety experts are calling for renewed attention to airport infrastructure, pilot protocols, and emergency preparedness worldwide.
