Rapper and singer Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill, was arrested early Thursday morning in Studio City, Los Angeles, following an alleged altercation with LAPD officers. According to NBC Los Angeles, the arrest came after police responded to reports of a naked man walking in the neighborhood around 6 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers encountered Hill, who allegedly threw punches at them before being restrained. Authorities requested paramedics over concerns of a possible drug overdose. He was subsequently hospitalized and is currently receiving medical attention.
Hill is expected to face misdemeanor battery charges for allegedly assaulting a police officer. If convicted, he could face up to one year in county jail and a fine of up to $2,000.
A video shared by TMZ appears to show the artist walking down a street wearing only underwear and cowboy boots, further fueling speculation about the incident.
Investigations are ongoing, and official statements from Hill or his representatives have yet to be released.
