Kennedy Agyapong Eyes Presidency Again, Picks GHC 600,000 NPP Nomination Forms

Former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has officially picked up nomination forms to contest in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

Agyapong’s decision marks his second attempt at leading the party, following a strong showing in the 2024 primaries, where he placed second to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

This year’s nomination process has drawn attention due to the significant increase in the cost of the forms, now set at GHC 600,000 — a sharp rise from previous years. Despite the steep price, Agyapong’s team has confirmed his full readiness to contest.

His entry sets the stage for a potentially competitive internal race as the NPP begins preparations for the 2026 polls.
