On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, a special program called Patriotic Immersion officially started in the Kadiogo region of Burkina Faso. The launch took place at the Aboubacar Sangoulé Lamizana National Technical High School in Ouagadougou.
The event was led by the Governor of Kadiogo, Abdoulaye Bassinga, and the Minister of Secondary Education, Boubacar Savadogo. This program is part of the government’s efforts to give young people a strong sense of love and loyalty to their country.
During the ceremony, the new high school graduates (called “bachelors”) listened to a message from President Ibrahim Traoré. In his message, he encouraged them to be true patriots and never betray their homeland.
This initiative is part of the Presidential Plan for Quality Education for All (IPEQ). It was first announced on May 2, 2025, and this year’s graduates are the first group to take part.
The goal is to help young people understand the importance of unity, discipline, and national pride as they step into adulthood.
