President John Dramani Mahama has suspended all scheduled activities and public engagements for the rest of the week following a tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight people, including two cabinet ministers.
A press statement issued on Wednesday, August 6, by Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu confirmed the suspension and announced a three-day period of national mourning starting Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The statement also noted that, as directed by the Chief of Staff, all national flags will fly at half-mast until further notice in honour of the departed.
