Accra is on the brink of a major transportation overhaul as President Mahama unveils plans for the construction of the Greater Accra Outer Ring Road. This ambitious project aims to drastically reduce traffic congestion in the city, offering a seamless bypass for vehicles heading to the northern regions of Ghana.

The new Outer Ring Road will allow trucks and other vehicles coming from neighboring countries like Togo (Lomé) to bypass the busy Accra city center. By diverting this traffic, the project promises to ease the daily gridlock that has become a significant challenge for residents and businesses alike.
In addition to the Outer Ring Road, President Mahama has also outlined comprehensive reforms for several key roads within the Greater Accra region. These improvements are expected to further enhance the city’s infrastructure, making commuting easier and more efficient for everyone. The initiative signals a strong commitment to modernizing Accra’s transportation network and fostering economic growth.
